Telephones
I'm regularly getting calls which CLI marks as INTERNATIONAL which just seem to hang up once I answer. Other than ones which sing to me about free holidays. Which I just leaving running and go away, to run up their bill.
Anyway, I've just rung the operator and talked to the Abuse Consultant or whatever they are called. Apparently international law stops them doing much about it.
But what really struck a chord with me was that the chap said "BT are just a communications company", to which I said that was surely an understatement in moderntimes and didn't BT own most of America these days. The bit Japan hasn't bought, anyway???
Surely they could just buy up these offending foreign countries and cut them off. In assorted senses of the word.

In the last week, I think, my reception of ITV1/2/3 has gone up from "no signal / fuzzy" to "watchable and recordable".

As I scribe an growing series of The Book and its sattellite novellas, I become more aware of my theme. I'm pleased with it. I think the indulgence of grand magic and gratuitous sex is just a vehicle for Something Else that I like more.

Firefox 3.0 and Facebook
I'm having really strange issues recently where when I click on a FB link, e.g. to got from my home page to a wall to wall, I get
http://www.new.facebook.com/profile.php?id=780868453&ref=name#/wall.php?id=666591482&banter_id=780868453&ref=nf&show_all
instead of just
http://www.new.facebook.com/wall.php?id=666591482&banter_id=780868453&ref=nf&show_all
so I have to manually edit out ths 'wrong bit' and reload.
Anone else have any problems like this???
Now, while FF/FB on linux seems to have similar issues, it WORKS!!!
But FF/FB on W2K doesn't???
Possibly ok with XP....

The site made it hard work.
It wasn't the worst site ever, by a long way.
I had a good time, although hard work.
Leaving site wasn't hard for people with a trailer and tow from a PD 4x4
2 tows, cos we took a load to go in our cars and then the final pack of the trailer.

Michael's little sister
Just been watching the US Nazi(A) conference thing with Rudeboy Julie and then Sarah the P.
I used to be involved with Amway.
It's the same people and the same speeches, the same cliches that are so like pantomime standard catch phrases. But are their Scrub Buds (tm)(R)(c) any good.
Apparently that commie hippy from US Nazi(B) wants to raise taxes. They didn't say what for, presumably not to spend it on US Citizens then? Rather than fightin' the Reds in Oh Seh.. ? Au Seat, Ruskiland.
Thank God (if MacCain doesn't mind me communicating without going via him) that I'm ina field for a few days.

Google Chrome
Is shit.
Because it doesn't work / build on my main OSes.
I can use it only on my XP box ( the "only stuff I need to resort to" machine)
Not my core Win2K system or any linux. I expected the linux, not the >= XP !
And it appears not to be written in Java!
Some bizarre proprietry M$ variant of C-mangled. I suppose there'll be a mono version???
And it renders more like IE than FF.
I suppose it is only a beta but my initial response is "disappointed".

Does this silver lining have a cloud?
Yesterday, from the emporium of Messrs Tesco, I did purchse m'self a 4GB USB memory stick. With a few coppers change from a tenner. T'is a tiny wee thing. At home I put on a test MP3 and scuttled back to the car with it. Joy!, for the moody picky car radio enjoys this device (it does not like all USB stciks) and lo, the sound of Tull did flow.
This being after dark, I noticed another thing. It has a Very Bright red activity LED. Which, as the thing is being read all the time, is on all the time. Possibly brighter than the gentle blue glow of the car radio itself.
Time will tell if a little jacket of gaffa is required!....
